Shipping method
Select the newly created delivery method and click on the 'shipping methods' tab.
Click on the + icon to create a new shipping method.
There are two tabs that can be filled in: General and Rates. Before tariffs can be created, the general information must first be filled in.
In General, the following fields can be entered:
- Name (for linking in the back office - when saving, the chosen price calculation is automatically added: "Postpaper" then becomes "per product Postpaper")
- Screen name (shown at step 4/5 in the shop)
- Track & Trace URL (the orderer can follow his package here with a track & trace code)
Then go to the "Rates" tab. Here you can create some kind of staffels for the price calculation.
Click on 'Change categories' to fill in new numbers.
The following pop-up opens:
By clicking on the +, a number can be added under 'Tot'. The first time it is assumed 0, then a number can be filled in for the maximum of that number and saved by clicking on the floppy icon. It is possible to create a staffel with different prices.
To add a rate, a country must be added. When shipping to multiple countries, a different rate can also be charged per country.
Add a country by clicking 'Add country' button.
Click on the price under 'Min. - 1000' and enter the price including VAT (the price excluding VAT is automatically calculated by clicking next to or in another field) and the delivery time in days.
If a staffel of weights is used, please enter a price with the other staffels, as well as in any other countries.
Set price calculation based on total weight
When a shipping method is set to weight, it depends on the total weight of the order which delivery rate is charged.
Suppose a different rate is used per 10 kilos, then '10000' can be filled in here and then '20000', etc. This will then result in 0-10000, 10001-20000, 20001-30000, etc. At the last weight entered becomes '-Max'.added.
A different amount and a different delivery time can be entered per weight.
Example
In the shopping cart there are several products. The total weight of the products together is 1.5 kilos. This will then charge an amount of € 1.99 and there is no extra delivery time.
Set price calculation per product
It is also possible to create a shipping method for a product or product type.
In the case of a price calculation per product, the shipping rates are the delivery time determined by the number of items ordered from a product.
0-250 pieces has its own rate, 251-500 pieces has its own rate and 501-1000 pieces has their own rate, etc.
Example
Business cards are offered in the shop. The orderer sets it up and orders 500 of them. This will then charge an amount of € 5.99 and there are 3 days extra delivery time.

Price calculation based on option (highest and lowest value)
It is also possible to set up a shipping method based on an option. This is almost always in combination with a variable input that can be set at Staffels and Options on the
Categories and Productspage.
For example, you can create a shipping method based on length. This can therefore be done for either the highest value / longest length or for the lowest value / shortest length. In the first case, you can think of a fixed-sized product. The price is determined by the product with the longest length. In the latter case, you can think of a banner that is 10 meters long and has a width of 1 meter. You can roll it up, so the lowest value / shortest side has more relevance to shipping. Here too, the price and delivery time depends on the chosen product and the shipping method.
The input depends on the option for which you set the shipping method.
Example of highest value
The variable input is set as follows:
The height and width of the option are set in centimeters. In this case, the input of the shipping method is therefore also in centimeters.
In the shopping cart is a product with a length of 5 meters and a product with a length of 10 meters. These orders are shipped as one order. The price of the shipment will then be calculated on the basis of the product with a length of 10 meters. An amount of € 9.99 will be charged and there are 2 days extra delivery time.
Example of lowest value
There is a building towel of 10 x 5 meters in the shopping cart. This is rolled up on the short side on a roll and sent. This makes the product 5 meters long.
The price of the shipment will then be calculated on the basis of the shortest side of the product. This will then charge an amount of € 5.99 and there is no extra delivery time.
After the shipping method has been created, it can be linked to the relevant products under 'Shipping' on the Logistics tab on the
Categories and Productspage. The final price and delivery time of the order can therefore also be determined by the shipping method associated with it.
