Document types

A document type is a collection of commands sent into a URL for calling a product.

A document type consists of:

1. Name
   
2. Template
   
3. Scale factor
   
4. Colour space
   
5. Control profiles
   
6. Job options (preset)
   
7. Other options
   

Create a new document type

Click 'New' to open the following window:

Enter a name for a new Document Type here and click 'Create'.

TheIt is important when giving a name that is taken into account.with the signs used. The name of the DocumentType is in an URLRedirected to Controllboxx/Designer.

Allowed characters are: - _ . +! ().

Not allowed characters are: $ & + , / : ; = ? @ < > # % { } 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

In addition, the name must be unique; no two document types of the same name can be created.

Indesign Template

ForWe use Indesign server to create a PDF. If thereIf special wishes are for a publication, it is possible toCreate template.
We recommend creating a new templateCreate a duplicate of the default template. Herein there are alllayers, colors, paragraph and drawing styles that may be needed for anew template; they no longer need to be added manuallyBecome.
The default template can be downloaded from the back office of Controlboxx/Designer.

SelectTemplate that should be used with the document type. Is this one stillIf you are not present, the template must be uploaded.

This template uses a mask

When it is checked, a mask is generated and displayed in the editor.
The mask must be present in the edit layer of the InDesign template.

Create a new InDesign template or replace an existing one

ToCreate a new InDesign template or create an existing templateReplace, click on 'Upload'. The following window opens:

First choose whether to replace an existing template or upload a new template by selecting one of the options.

Replace existing template

SelectReplace an existing template. Then select in thepull-down menu the template that needs to be replaced. Click on'Browse' to select a template that replaces existingYou need to be and click on 'Upload'.

Upload new template

Select Upload a new Indesign template. Fill in step 2 as clear as possible.

Click 'Browse' to select a template and then 'Upload'.

Delete an InDesign template

First, select the document type from which the template needs to be removed.

Go to the templates and check if the correct template is displayed.
Delete it by clicking the Delete button.

Edit the InDesign layers

Edit

Horizontal

Specifies what the uploaded file should be used for.

Default

Lowres
To generate a low resolution PDF.

To generate a high resolution PDF.

Here you can determine which layers can be seen in the editor.

Add reference
AlthoughThe number of layers present is usually sufficient for the mostcommon document types, it is possible to add an extra layerAdd to the Document Type.
The name of the layer must match one on one with the layer in the template; the name of the layer is case sensitive.

Delete the InDesign masks

ToRemove the template masks, select them and click on 'MaskersRemove." The masks are not removed from the InDesigntemplate, but only in the editor where the orderer makes the design.

Scale factor

BecauseInDesign not with sizes can work larger than 5 meters exists thescale factor. For generating the pdf by InDesign for articlesgreater than 5 meters, it is necessary that the scale factor becomesused to reduce the design for InDesignwithin those 5 meters. The scale factor converts the sizes shownBe in the shop so that the size becomes good for the orderershown.

For example, we choose '1/10(cm)' then that means that with an article of 10 by 10 meters InDesign1,000cm/10cm=100cm=100cm, but in the editor a size of1,000x1,000cm is shown.

Template and the end result is 10000x10000 mm.

Scale factor does not adjust the sizes of the document!

Colour space

There are 4 different color spaces that can be used: Original, RGB, Black and White and CMYK.

Original

It leaves the colors intact as they are uploaded.

Rgb

ThisAdjusts the colors to RGB.

Black and white

It adjusts the colors to black and white.

Cmyk

This adjusts the colors to CMYK.

These colors are only used in the editor and not for the PDFs.

Control profile

Atthe control profile can upload and/or selected XML filesThey ensure that the files submitted are checkedon certain criteria such as height, width, bleed,DPI, etc.

Customer files

Select the profile to be used to check the publication.

In consultation, standard profiles are placed on the server.

(High Resolution PDF)

Select the profile to be used to check the dpi present in the generated PDF.

Other options

Show browseable PDF

If a publication contains multiple pages, they can be shown as browseable PDF.

Generate PDF in background

StandardA PDF is first generated and a JPEG is based on it.Made for the preview. In large assignments, it could be some time.It takes before this preview is available. Therefore, there can be adocument type to be chosen to put the PDF in the backgroundGenerate while the preview is displayed immediately.

Watch out!

This function (background generation) does not work with a mask; the mask will not be displayed.

Repro mode

Designer mode

This document can have multiple designs

It is possible to upload multiple (maximum 8) designs and give each design its own edition.

In the case of multiple designs, we show the results on an additional page in the HR PDF. If desired, the result can be stored as a separate xml document in the output directory, you will then get a zip ban back with the pdf and the xml.

Rotate document when uploading with different orientation

When this is checked, the canvas is automatically rotated when a different orientation is detected. In addition, the user has the option to rotate the canvas himself.
