In a publication it is possible to add an RTF (Rich Text Field) field. In an RTF field, the orderer has the ability to format text. The layout options are:
In order to make the possibilities available for an orderer, the different properties will first have to be included in the InDesign template. Here it can be determined for which field should be given which properties. For example, it may be possible that it is possible for one field to adjust the text color and the drawing style, but in another field only the drawing style.
Drawing styles
Create a template with a paragraph style for the text and the following drawing styles: Bold, Italic.
For the operation in the RTF field, these names must also be taken exactly that way; they should not deviate. So if there would be 'Fat' instead of 'Bold' or 'Cursive' instead of 'Italic', it won't work.
All drawing styles present in the template can be used in the text field (RTF). If you choose to use the drawing styles Bold and Italic or a combination of Bold and Italic, these fonts must be present in the font folder of the package that is uploaded in Generator.
If the InDesign package is complete and compressed, it can be uploaded in Generator on the
Templatepage.
Then when setting up the RTF field (at
Publications) is clicked on 'Sylights'.
A new window opens with the drawing styles associated with the InDesign. Check the styles that can be used in the RTF field.
Alinean styles
For an InDesign template, you always requires a standard paragraph style: a paragraph style, for example, 'head' for the headline and for the text, for example, 'text'.
The paragraph style text will serve as the basis for the Rich Text Field and must also be linked to the web field when setting up.
But a paragraph style can also be set up for a specific field with a specific layout. When adding an RTF to a publication, it can then be chosen whether an orderer can, not or partially adjust this formatting.
In the example below, we created a paragraph style with a cup of 12 points bold in white.
Listing
With an RTF field it is also possible to use a list. In the example below, a drawing style is used for the bullet and a paragraph style for the 'list'.
If there is no paragraph style for the list, Generator automatically adds it.
If you want to have more influence on the list, you can add a paragraph style to the template yourself.
Make sure this paragraph style is based on the basic paragraph style. The basic paragraph style is the style used for the text when furnishing.
Colors
It is also possible to have the orderer adjust the color of the text. The colors are taken from the InDesign template and must therefore be added there. All colors present in the template can be used in the text field (RTF).
In the example below, three colors were chosen: two standard colors (Paper (white) and Black) a color has been added Ochre.
The colors 'None' and 'Registration' are not read.
We recommend adding only the necessary colors in the template and not all available colors.
This makes it easier to select the right colors in a later step.
Linking color to the RTF field in the publication is done in the same way as the drawing styles.
Font size
If the RTF field is checked in the RTF field 'Show font size options', the orderer can determine the font size himself.
In the fields you can fill in what the minimum and maximum font size should be and in which steps it is increased.
