Image lists


It is possible to link a list of images to a publication. The orderer can choose from this and place it in the publication.
An image list must be linked to an image field. This can be linked to 'Manage publication fields' on thePublicationspage.


Create image list

Click on 'New' at the top of the page. The following fields are displayed:



Enter the name of the image list under 'Name'. A description may be added.
Click on 'Save'.

Add an image

Select the newly created list and click on 'New Image' at the top of the page. The following popup opens:



Name
Please enter a name for the image. This name is shown to the orderer.

Description
It is also possible to place a description in the image. The description is only shown in the back office near the image.

File
Upload the image that will be used in the publication here.
So keep in mind that the quality of the image is suitable for print and printing.

View
Display is the thumbnail shown in image list to the orderer. It is generated automatically after uploading a file.
If you want to show a different view in the image list, it is possible to upload another image here.

Click Add to add the image to the list.

Add metadata

It is possible to link specific text to an image and send it to the publication where it can be used. When the image is placed in the publication, the text entered as a value for the metadata is also forced into it.
In the example below we have images of animals with the name and a description of the animal.



First, create a metadata list for the image list by selecting an image list and clicking 'Metadata'.

Name
Enter the name of the metadata field by Name.

Value
The value can be filled in later per image, but a general text can also be entered here that could apply to multiple images.

Click "Add" to add it to the list. This is shown on the right. When the list is complete, it can be used in the image.

To do this, go to the image list where the metadata should be used.



Click on the name of the image. A popup will then open with a field 'Metadata' field and the value of the metadata field if it was previously entered. If it has not been entered earlier, the text field will be displayed empty and a value can be entered specifically for the image here:




To adjust another metadata field for the image, you can select in the 'Metadata' field and others.

Link an image list to a publication

Go to thePublicationspage and select the publication where the image list should be linked.
Click Manage publication fields and select a field type "Image field."
Then click on the 'Image lists' button.
In the open popup, one or more image lists can be selected. The images in the selected lists are displayed on the right. Also, one of the images can be chosen as the default image for the field by selecting it and clicking on 'Default'.
The image lists are in normal or treasury printed font. In the case of normal font, it comes from the Image Lists page. In the case of tube printed font, it comes from the bale bank/asset manager. In the latter case, the images will not be shown here.
When the image lists to be used are selected, the selection can be saved by means of the 'Save' button.

Set up an image list during publication

Go to thePublicationspage and select the publication where the image list is used.
Under 'Publication', the fields can be added to the publication.
